I didn't plan to respond to this thread, but I'll pile on in response to 
Doug's post. In my little world of Frasera (Kingdom Plantae), 
misidentification of a single collection Frasera albomarginata has 
resulted in both EOL and GBIF reporting that Frasera paniculata occurs 
in Nevada.   While I have annotated the voucher and submitted comments 
to the aggregators years ago, this has not been corrected.  In fact, as 
I just checked, my comments have disappeared from the great data bases 
in the sky.  I could choose to re-submit the comments, check that they 
appear online, followup, pursue, irritate, heckle, etc., a process 
requiring multiple hours.  Instead I'll just cut it off at this point (5 
minutes) and go back to the work I want to do.
