[Taxacom] Ochterlony Valley

Hi Mike,

Finding a location for the Ouchterlony Valley in India has proven to be a chore, even for a Tamil Nadu native son (see below).  Perhaps you have found what you need already, but if not, here is some information. Through a "friend of a friend of a friend" I have received the following:

I was not able to get a particular location either in the internet or in google maps. Even in that page it says that the valley is in Nilgiri, madras. But I have never known that Nilgiri was part of madras at all. 

But you can see in this website

 that it lies between the mukurthy national park(NP) and mudumalai wildlife sanctuary (MWS). There is also directions available from NP to MWS in google maps.

In my searches I (JCL) ran across a reference to a place name "O'Valley".  This place seems to be in a location very much like the descriptive information for the Ouchterlony Valley and I wonder if they are actually one and the same. Perhaps only a coincidence, but one can find precise locational information for O'Valley, e.g.

Can anyone give me an acurate location for the Ochterlony Valley in the
Nilgiris of India?  I know that it was a 45 sq mile estate 20 miles from
Gundalur, but that is it, not even which direction from Gundalur!
