[Taxacom] Vital study of an organism on planet Earth

Is it just me, or is Geoff being a trifle cryptic?? If the issue is about a non-OA publication which doesn't tell you what taxon/taxa it is about, unless you have a subscription (thereby not coming up in a literature search for that taxon), then I have just done what I can to remedy the sitaution somewhat, i.e., http://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Bugula_neritina

I sure hope the style I ran into does NOT catch on.

I think the person posting assumed we all subscribe to this journal or can get it for free through some library subscription -- but the link I got asked me to pay $20 for it.

The style of open access might be preferred if one posts to an online list of world subscribers who may not subscribe to that particular journal ....

I'm just sayin' ..

Sorry, the title, abstract and even the keywords won't give away what it's
about. But if you have access and you go to page 2 at the bottom we
promise that there will be a taxon name mentioned, and you then can decide
whether you are further interested.  And living things all really work the
same way, don't they, same basic principles, so it's not as if doing that
will waste anyone's time.

We hope this style catches on.

Sincerely,

The authors
