(mm dd,yyyy)January 2, 2013Post SpecificationThe School invites applications for an Associate Professorship / Assistant Professorship. Applicants should (i) have a doctoral degree in a relevant biological science discipline; (ii) postdoctoral experience in plant systematics and ecology; and preferably (iii) specialize in molecular systematics/ecology, and have knowledge on flora of southern China.
The appointee will (a) teach courses in plant biology and/or ecology; (b) develop a competitive research program; (c) serve as curator of the Shiu-Ying Hu Herbarium of the School and oversee the operation and management of the Herbarim; and (d) collaborate with faculty members of the School on plant biotechnology, Chinese medicinal research, or ecology and conservation.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2013, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Review of applications will begin in January 2013, and continue until the post is filled.Monthly Salary and Fringe BenefitsSalary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two years or longer and housing benefits for eligible appointees.
