Dear All, Is it likely that most databases will eventually follow Cahoon, et al., 2010, "The complete chloroplast genome of tall fescue (Lolium arundinaceum; Poaceae)..." in assigning this species to genus Lolium? Or has that assignment been contested? ---------------Ken

> Hi Brian, Good question. I believe they have long been recognized as the same species, so one is the synonym of the other. However, there seems to be some dispute whether this species belongs in Festuca or Schedonorus. As far as I can tell, this is still the subject of debate, so some databases use one name and others use the other name. ---------------Ken-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
