Salary: from £38,812 - 58,338  per annum plus benefits

The Natural History Museum is one of the world's leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural history through exhibitions, public programmes, publications and the web.   

 

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Researcher to develop a competitive research programme in the area of agricultural entomology, including forestry and horticulture. You will be responsible for developing a multidisciplinary research strategy, combining traditional and modern methods in taxonomy, to address current problems in terrestrial agroecosystems. 

Publication of original and peer-reviewed research and active engagement with Collections Management in the development and of the national collection of insects is also a key part of this role.

The successful candidate will have experience of carrying out agricultural research on one or more groups of pests and/or beneficial insects and a successful track record of raising external funds for research.
