Dear Colleagues,

I'm writing to you from Berkshire Museum, a small, regional museum in
western Massachusetts.

Some of you may know me as a professional lichenologist.
But I'm writing to you now in the guise of Natural Science Program
Coordinator (my day job!).

This is a shot in the dark, but worth a try:

Our museum is hosting the amazing, traveling Reptiland exhibition
"Geckos: Tails to Toepads" from June until September, 2011.

I'm searching for a keynote speaker for our exhibition Opening Day
celebrations on Saturday, June 18th.

I'm hoping that someone on this list could point me towards a
professional herpetologist who works on phylogenetics or population
biology of geckos. A potential speaker would need to have some "panache"
(you know who you are!) and the ability to put together a more "general"
sort of talk on gecko diversity and evolution (for an audience of
non-scientists). With lots of great photographs of geckos (and other
lizards), of course.

Berkshire Museum would provide overnight accomodation plus travel costs,
as well as a speaker's fee (the latter is negotiable). Of course, the
closer to western Massachusetts, the better (we are a non-profit museum
with a limited budget!).

Please send all replies to me off-list to prevent clogging of this
listserv.

I need to decide on a speaker within the next week; so the sooner, the
better.

Thank you all for your consideration.

Have a good weekend.

Sincerely yours,

Scott
