Unless all the definitions of the two terms that I see are wrong, 
enculturation and selection are not the same thing. I have no arguments 
with your suggestions about selection, and there are certainly cases 
where enculturation can lead to selection ("kill the stranger!"), but an 
evolutionary biologist won't just assume that there is a connection.
