[Taxacom] New publisher for Journal of Hymenoptera Research

Journal of Hymenoptera Research Open Access and taxpub based

On February 8,  <http://www.pensoft.net/> Pensoft published the first gold
Open Access and NLM Taxpub based issue of the
<http://www.pensoft.net/journals/jhr> Journal of Hymenoptera Research. It is
one of the first journals Pensoft publishes for a scientific society besides
its own  <http://tinyurl.com/4cz699e> inhouse journals such as Zookeys. The
implication are beyond changing from a traditional pdf based to a
semantically enhanced  <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK47081/> taxpub
NLM DTD based journal allowing immediate distribution of its content to a
set of external aggregators such as  <http://plazi.org> Plazi,
<http://eol.org> Encylopedia of Life, Wikispecied or the  <http://gbif.org>
Global Biodiversity Information Facility, and not least PubMedCentral for
archival, one of the big issues in taxonomic literature.

 

Being part of the taxpub development team, I am very glad to see that
journals beyond Zookeys are venturing into the field of semantically
marked-up publishing.
