[Taxacom] Fwd: evolution education

My thinking was that if evolution is so badly taught already then perhaps we are better off without it. I realize that may be controversial view, and don't expect many would agree.

I rarely respond to a post on TAXACOM, but feel the statement made by John Grehan needs a response.  He said "I sometimes wonder if evolution would be better served left out of the pre-university education system altogether."

Given the fact that the majority of people in our country do not pursue education post-high school, this seems a very naïve and disappointing statement.  If evolution is left out of science education in our country, we will all suffer for it.  We have enough ignorance about the topic already!
