Botanists,
I wonder if someone can help with the identity of the plant described
and photographed by a friend of ours?

The word "mystery" [in a post about Viviparid Mystery Snails] made me
think of a mystery plant my mother found in her garden two years ago.
The garden is in the middle of Wales at an altitude of around 1,200 feet.
I have not been able to identify it. The leaves are strong and thick
making the curl un-curlable. There appears to be no bulbs, tubers or
corms, just a few roots.
Would you happen to know anyone who might know what it is? If you do,
please feel free to forward this. I'd love to know what this mystery
plant is! - Thanks, Ann Coffey
