Hi Robin,
      Yup, a lot of them are no doubt bullies.  Luckily there are some
people (like Rachel Carson) who overcome that fear and bear the brunt of
the retribution anyway (for the greater good).  Of course, not everyone
is willing or able to do that, especially if the retribution would
affect their family.
