[Taxacom] Mystery Aquatic Plant

An ichthyologist friend of of mine sent me this picture of an unidentified aquatic plant that grows submerged in the rapids of the Congo. It has snails on it (and apparently her fish eat the snails). Do any of you botanically inclined Taxacomers recognize this plant?
