This is a good point and one has to remember that there are various
reports starting at the OECD, via EU to national governments that
indicate that the next 50 years will see the developement of a
bioeconomy. If something like names/taxonomy plays a role in that
system then there will certainly be efforts to support that
infrastructure. Howvever, if names become a sideline then the question
is what relevance do they have to the rest of biology?

Money makes the world go around, and politicians are aware of that,
which means they support things that are good in the eyes of the
voters, which keeps them in office......
