Well, keeping Turneraceae separate from Passifloraceae is not so bad,
as that is what Cronquist did. However, Cronquist placed both these
families in the order Violales, so for the sake of consistency, that
placement should be kept here as well (Cronquist obviously did not
have an order Malpighiales).
Of course it would be possible to switch over entirely to APG II / III
but in that case a whole lot more work would have to be done (pretty
much starting over entirely). It looks to me that the main thing is
that whatever classification is chosen, it should be followed consistently.
[But the whole thing does look very rough, with as the most extravagant
example the "Aridae (Fork-tailed Catfishes)" substituting for the
"Arecaceae (palm tree family)" ...]

Working on Passifloraceae, among other things, I checked them on the second link you cited. Actually it is more of a mess than that, at least in some places. The Turneraceae are kept separate from the Passifloraceae unlike in APG III. Why not if it is their choice, but its type, Turnera, is in the Passifloraceae, not the Turneraceae! Just the only thing I looked at. May not be representative of the whole.

Something that is quite noticeable is that this site appears to
be using the Cronquist classification, but these pages
http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:apni.taxon:343065#classification
http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:apni.taxon:347226#classification
label each subclass as "subfamily". Also the hyperlink to each
"subfamily" does not lead to a listing of the component orders
as it should. Better correct that ...

Hi Tony.
Thanks for the publicity. Right now I must emphasise that we are still working on a few final matters and the site is expected still to be changing and intermittently unavailable for a couple of weeks. I'll circulate a formal announcement when we're through this phase.
The ALA team and partners have been putting enormous effort into this integration project and we will be able to offer many tools and views which I believe will be very useful to Australian researchers and naturalists. We still have a great deal more we plan to add over the coming months. Once we are properly up and launched, I would value input from TAXACOM members on priorities for additional content, function and data linkages.
Best wishes,
Donald
