[Taxacom] Additional forms of oil pollution

Dear All,
      I see that BP finally admitted today that their oil spill exceeds
5,000 barrels per day.  They actually HAD to admit it, since their own
data shows that their "Big Straw" is sucking up that amount, and it is
still just part of the additional oil which is still leaking into the
ocean.  I still think 15,000 to 25,000 barrels a day is a more accurate
estimate.    
      Perhaps equally disturbing are the overlooked dangers which BP and
other oil corporations pose in the future, particularly the so-called
"tar-sands" they also seem intent on exploiting, even though many
scientists see it as even more problematic, not only pumping large
amounts of carbon into the atmosphere, but polluting large amounts of
FRESH water (even more critical to our future than the pollution of
ocean waters).  Anyway, here is a recent new report on these subjects:
