[Taxacom] How many species have been reported only once

As BHL is much better at finding names in indices than in the text,
species that are mentioned only briefly have a higher chance of getting
overlooked. This probably includes many names that are treated as
synonyms or nomina dubia; however, some new names are proposed
inconspicuously. A little while back I was looking for a species
description and located it only by knowing that the author had not
published much and looking up what he did write. The name was a
replacement of a homonym, proposed in a footnote.

Thus, I suspect that many names that were fairly quickly relegated to
synonymy or knowingly ignored will incorrectly appear to lack
subsequent mention. Nevertheless, there are many species with no
significant subsequent investigation.
