The main page of the website from the next  Latin American botanical
congress, to be carried out in Chile in October
(http://www.botanica-alb.org/X_Congreso/index.php) states the
following information in Spanish:


Agradecimientos
El Comité organizador del X CLB agradece las muestras de apoyo y
solidaridad de los botánicos latinoamericanos con el pueblo de Chile. Ya
nos hemos podido comunicar con nuestros colegas del sur de Chile,
quienes están bien y agradecen las muestras de cariño. La ciudad de
Concepción, ubicada a 1.000 km al sur de La Serena, se encuentra dentro
de la zona más afectada por el terremoto.
