really? Coming from another commissioner, that just looks to me like closing ranks ...
it is no different to saying 'IF you don't understand the most basic underlying principles of X, then you should not, IMHO, be an X-ologist'
so, Frank, do you see the function if the ICZN to regulate taxonomic practice in a substantive way, by making the availability of names contingent upon such factors as (1) whatever characters are deemed to be good ones at the present time; and/or (2) whatever body of people are deemed to be good and proper taxonomists at the present time???
