How do you know what is new until you have done the taxonomy (examined type specimens, compared them with the range of variation of specimens in collections (which requires a lot of sorting of existing collections), etc.) Every specialist taxonomist keeps track of information relevant to their group. They don't need a dozen acronyms to come along and "integrate" it with everybody else's information ...
