Wayne Takeuchi named a Papuan Ardisia for me, and the university decided to 
ballyhoo it for PR purposes.  Aside from an inordinate fondness for seeing 
my name and face on the internet, my main interest in cooperating was a 
desire to see some of the traditional aspects of science kept in the public 
eye.  So much university science PR capitalizes on the latest cool gee-whiz 
six-figure electronic-gizmo-mediated science, that it's nice to remind the 
public that there is more to it than that.
