[Taxacom] data quality vs. data security: a survey

Dear Stephen,

I thought I might tell you that I'm now into a DATEWR mode (delete all  
taxacom emails without reading). This thread has gotten way too  
tedious for me.

Friends:
What kind of question could I ask that gets us off in a fresh  
direction. How to find foreign housing for frugal students/biologists  
seeking to expand experience in other county's ecosystems? Comparisons  
of software for stacking photomicrograph images? Contemporary methods  
for keeping pests out of personal plant or insect collections with  
minimum poisoning of curators? Good label making protocols for Apple  
computers?

I'm really interested in the latter, having let my last PC die a  
peaceful death and kissing good bye to Paradox and WordPerfect, my  
beloved programs for databasing and specimen curation in my most  
recent electronic incarnation.

I'm also keen on advice for selecting an inexpensive digital cam that  
will fit into a standard (23mm?) eyepiece tube of my microscopes and  
connect directly to a LCD projector so students can see what I'm doing  
in real time.
