you could try asking Willy Kuschel (g.kuschel at xtra.co.nz), but he is in his 90s, so don't expect a rapid response. Other people to try would be Bob Anderson (randerson at mus-nature.ca), or perhaps Rolf Oberprieler (Rolf.Oberprieler at csiro.au) ...

Hello,
Anybody has an idea of what genus (or even species) of weevil this is? I
found it in a palm inflorescence in Bolivia (lower Madidi river region).
It was pretty big. I would greatly appreciate any kind of ID, so I can
include this in an article I am writing up.
