Dear All,
Just reread my posting. I should have said that eclosion is a
synonym (not an antonym) of opening. My bad!! :-(
Anyway, I just got out my little French-English Dictionary, and
the closest thing I could find for unfolding would be the verb deployer,
and the French noun "deploiement", but deployment in English just
doesn't work very well in this case (another broad term).
I guess the related word "display" would be more appropriate, but
even it just doesn't have the precise meaning of the unfolding of a
display (such as a flower), MUCH LESS the exact moment that such
unfolding begins. I keep going back to "bud-burst". Is there an
equivalent term in other languages?
        ---------Ken Kinman
