To quote:
"An immediate return is urged to the practice of evolutionary
systematics and process-based science involving using all evidence,
including both sister-group and ancestor-descendant analysis, using
both similarity and difference, and induction and deduction to form
theories of evolution of particular groups upon which a robust and
responsible classification can be based."
But isn't that we have always done? If you don't like or can't explain
one phylogeny, you move stuff around and make another one. And repeat
until you come up with one that is at once believable and makes you
look clever.
C'mon now, admit it. I've seen you guys doing the data cleaning
alignment thing... :)
