I have automated a call. Cool! Thanks Michael.

But I wish there was a way Google maps could do a polar projection (AFAIK
it cannot). That would be usurping Google Earth's function, so it probably
isn't coming anytime soon. The problem for people with an interest in the
Southern Ocean is that the proportions of Antarctica are colossal in
Google maps compared to reality, and the non-satellite map is hopelessly
distorted.  Cf Tony Rees's mapper for OBIS which does do a nice spherical
projection of polar distributions which can be rotated & zoomed.
