And when someone comes up with the notion of creating a global database
for abbreviations of the authors of names, please respect the fact that
the botanists have one. Perhaps a field to indicate which code is
involved. 
I am still smarting from having sat through a presentation on the
subject of standards to be told that UTC was the code for the University
of Tennessee-Chattanooga. The presenter, and the person assigning that
code, clearly was unaware of Index herbariorum which assigns UTC to the
Intermountain Herbarium of Utah State University - and did so when the
institution was a college, way back when.
