[Taxacom] globalnames?

Just to clarify my comment. Searching for "common" as in "common seal"  
or "European" as in "European Robin" simply illustrates that local  
names have appeared, not just the Latin names. The original post  
refers to "Gemeine" = common and "Gruene" = green and the fact that a  
journalist mistook these to be genus names. While one can link the  
scientific name to the local name one also has to be careful because  
"Tobacco mosaic virus A" is a scientific species name.
