Web Content Accessibility Guidelines caution against relying on colour 
to provide information. Some people are blind, colour-blind, using aural 
browser s or monochrome displays.

On another note, have you yet had chance to consider emitting 'Species' 
microformats (http://microformats.org/wiki/species) from EOL? I 
reiterate my offer to assist you in so doing.
