nevertheless, this newborn hypothesis of mine is pure intellectual bullsh..., and its possible tentative test and refutation would be a pure waste of time ...    euhh... period, I think... 

so much for "hypothesis stands alone" - a tinge of scientific explanatory context would be nice in the picture 
(e.g. tentative explanation of shared apomorphies by exclusive common ancestry) 

"strict Popperianism / refutationism" is definitely not the reference for evolutionary biology... not even for defining science, by the way, which was the unattained goal of Popper... 

some mix of Fitzhughistic, Rieppelian and Bungeian readings could help a lot...
