JOB DETAILS:
This is a unique opportunity to join Kew's Palm and Pandan team in the Herbarium, Library, Art and Archives (HLAA) department, to support the delivery of outstanding science and curation. The team plays a world-leading role in biodiversity research on palms, a family of immense economic and conservation significance. It maintains an extensive collection of palm and pandan specimens within Kew's herbarium, enriching it with new material obtained through fieldwork worldwide.
You will primarily be responsible for curation and development of the team's herbarium collections, delivering the highest curatorial standards and facilitating access to the collections and related databases. You will play a key role in the identification of incoming material and will support the research objectives of the team. You will also work in collaboration with the other scientific teams within the Herbarium to support activities within our department and throughout the organisation.

ESSENTIALS:
Displaying a strong interest in biodiversity and conservation, you will have academic qualifications and IT skills appropriate to the post. You will be able to work effectively both as a team player and independently, and show initiative in solving complex problems with diligence and attention to detail. You will possess good inter-personal skills and be a confident communicator who is ready to support the team and its visitors.
