Dear Taxacomers,
In an SEM survey of microalgae I have come across a cluster of ~1
micrometer unknowns that I first thought might be a new member of the
Parmales (Chrysophyceae). Apparent they are not Parmales (thanks, RJ). It
has been suggested to me that the cluster of spherules might be a clump of
pollen grains. The SEM photo can be seen at: IRLbiodiversity at weebly.com
Background: East coast of Florida [subtropical}, Indian River Lagoon,
Spring 2007, one meter depth, near mangrove islands. If pollen, a partial
list of local plants can be found here:

Anyone recognize? Assistance and comments appreciated.
