Hi,

difficult to say. Tarantula (=Theraphosidae) identification can be usually
only made by the examination of taxonomically relevant bodystructures like
genital structur, shape and structure of stridulating organs etc., but not
by coloration. I can say that it is definitely a male, probably a
Chromatopelma cyanopubescense male, but in this case the distribution does
not fit, because this Species is only known from Venezuela up to now. I've
forwarded your question to Dr. Perez-Miles and Dr. Bertani, which are the
leading Systematists for the Theraphosidae from South America. Maybe they
can say something more than I can.

Wth best regards, Volker
