[Taxacom] Another Botany Book and a Request

Another wonderful book is Edgar Anderson's Plants, Man and Life republished
by the Missouri Botanical Garden in 1997. The book, written in 1976, is, of
course, dated but still a great read. You'll need to forgive the
antediluvian use of male pronouns throughout.

I currently teach a discussion course in Scientific "Method", Ecology and
Evolution. Among several papers, my students currently read Guns, Germs and
Steel (Diamond), Your Inner Fish (Shubin), and Why Evolution is True
(Coyne). I've looked in vain for a book like the last two (on evolution)
that covers ecology in an equally engaging fashion. Could we start an
Ecology Book list discussion? -- In know, I know, this is a taxonomy list.
