Ah --- thanks. I guess I was only countering the earlier argument of durvillae because "Urville" is feminine (like villa), which presumably is then also irrelevant?

  I think it's traditional (recommended? required?) that honorific generic names are always feminine.  I think it reflects of the gender of the "planta" than on the honoree.
