ICZN Art. 8.4 explicitly accepts mimeographing as printed. Although
a typewriter (with ribbon removed) was used to "cut" mimeograph
stencils, letter by letter, the stencil was not the end product, but
a means of producing numerous identical copies with ink on paper. The
correct analogy here is with letterpress type which is also set
letter by letter. The comparison of handwriting to typing is based
on the more conventional use of the typewriter to press an inked
ribbon on paper to produce a unique copy character by character.
