Ask Edi Gittenberger from Naturalis Leiden (NL), he confirmed me that this
was not possible for molluscs. When Edi told them that the authors of a
molecular study had misidentified a species, as could be evidently seen
from the distributional data given in the work and the published record on
the ranges of the species in question (which had not been consulted by the
authors of the molecular study), GenBank argued that this was his personal
opinion and others may have other opinions, and that they would not touch
the data record.
