Dear All,
It was suggested to me that they were refering to nictitating
membranes. At first I couldn't believe that someone teaching biology at
a University wouldn't know that nictitating membranes are also found in
birds, mammals, and amphibians. However, in the light of day, I've now
concluded that is indeed what they were talking about. Conclusion:
don't trust the internet, even if it is on a University website.
