EDIT Cyber-taxonomy Platform user testing coordinator

Salary: £23,134 per annum (Pay Band D)

 

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh has a vacancy for a fixed term 15 month E.U.-funded post responsible for coordinating and undertaking testing of key software components of Work Package 5 (Platform for Cyber-taxonomy) of the EDIT project. 

 

The successful candidate will be required to plan and undertake the software testing program including the identification of bugs and the assessment of functional completeness and usability. Prior experience of this type of work is not essential, the successful candidate will be joining an experienced team of software developers and guidance on the development of testing strategies will be provided. A thorough knowledge of taxonomic working practises and practical experience of taxonomic work is however essential, candidates must therefore have a post graduate degree in taxonomy coupled with relevant work experience. The post will involve a considerable element of coordination between testing partners and interaction with the partners responsible for software development, experience of team working and evidence of good communication skills will therefore be desirable.
