Dear TDWG Friends and Members
As you may be aware, TDWG is helping to support our community through three
databases-
1. Biodiversity Informatics related projects and organizations
(http://www.tdwg.org/biodiv-projects/)
2. Biodiversity Informatics related networks
(http://www.tdwg.org/biodiv-networks/)
3. Biodiversity Informatics related events
(http://www.tdwg.org/events/)
There has been some interest in the Projects Database since e-Biosphere so
Piers Higgs is planning a paper this year in the Proceedings of TDWG. Piers
helped to populate the database early on and continues to add records as
projects pop up. If you know of projects that are not in the database, he
would appreciate it if they could be added before the end of August.
Note that the value of these databases to the community is dependent on
community support. All of the databases accept records from anyone
registered on the TDWG site (http://www.tdwg.org/events/) while the Projects
database will also accept edits.
Piers Higgs e are planning to write a paper about the Projects database for
the Proceedings of TDWG this year. If you are aware of any projects that are
not in the database, please add them before the end of August so that the
information can be included in the paper.
