[Taxacom] Plant Taxonomists, Systematics: Need Help Finding E-co-lyptus or Echolyptus

Fellow Scientists,

I have been on a rather long and exhaustive search for a plant species
which was known in ancient Hebrew or Greek as:

E-co-lyptus or Echolyptus.

The plant is not eucalyptus and its old name must have been replaced
by a more modern Latin  name. I know it's a lot to ask to ask for any
assistance in finding this most challenging plant; but, I appreciate
any efforts in doing so. All I have is the name, no pictures of it.
