Dall, William H. 1905. (Land and fresh water mollusks. Harriman Alaska
Expedition Volume XIII, p. 1-171+plates) has > or < in front of several
names in the synonymies. There is no obvious connection to the status
assigned to the taxon, nor is an explanation evident in the text. As
both Dall and the Harriman Expedition cover many taxa besides mollusks,
I thought someone working with other taxa might have an idea as to what
they signify. Suggestions?
