Dear List,

ZooBank is the proposed official online registry for zoological names and nomenclatural acts of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. Now we are entering a stage in the ZooBank development where we draft the formal ZooBank policies, defining what ZooBank does and how. Policy proposals will be posted on the ZooBank list for public discussion:

Some of the policy proposals might be appealing only to bureaucrats and ZooBank enthusiasts but we need those policies to get ZooBank functional in an organized and transparent way. Yesterday, we have posted a draft of our first policy, defining how we establish policies.
