[Taxacom] Biodiversity Informatics on wikipedia - contributions welcome

Thanks for doing this Tony. It is great to have a consensus page on  
what we are doing as a community. It would be good for people to link  
off from this page to works that expand on the definition.

I'll try and add bits in as the occur to me and I hope others will to.

Increasingly I read Wikipedia first for topics I know nothing about  
and I imagine many people take the same approach.
