This reminds me of my recent post to Taxacom about "Organism Concepts". Ie using barcodes, amongst many other pieces of "evidence" to define a "thing" (organism). So you can then say "anything that is an adequate match to my defined Organism Concept is this thing". I think registration and digitisation..., will help this.
Also, I am hoping this will be one of the outcomes of the GNUB/GNA, where code governed nomenclatural events + name usages are recorded, then linked to all other taxon name usages, and thus creating these linked dictionaries you have mention. What do you think?
