Dear colleagues,

SPECIAL NOTICE: The swine flu outbreak has caused legitimate concern
regarding attendance at ICSEB7 in July. The organizing committee, in close
contact with our Mexican colleagues, strongly believe that the viral
population will rise, peak, and fall before our congress. So far no cases of
swine flu have been reported from Veracruz. Of the cases reported in Mexico
City, these are from among the more than 20 million persons living there.
The level of infection, therefore, is actually very low.

Please register, send in your abstract, and make hotel reservations as you
have planned. If the swine flu problem worsens and persists, hence making it
advisable to cancel ICSEB7, we will so indicate on the homepage and refund
in full any monies that have been sent to us. We do not anticipate that this
will happen, however.

In view of the present difficult circumstances, we are extending the
registration deadline until 31 May 2009. In this way we can all monitor the
health situation carefully in the weeks ahead.
