[Taxacom] endless debate

I'm too old and tired to get further involved in this debate; but beware of the term "information content". It can be made to suit a wide variety of arguments. See my 1986 "Classification et information", in "L'Ordre et la Diversite du Vivant", Fondation Diderot, Fayard. Not the most accessible reference, I admit, but it was a chance to deliver my opinion(s) on the matter. I wrote it in English, by the way, and could probably supply a copy of the original.

phylogenetic system. Syst. Zool. 28: 483-519.
