Classical examples are vicariants Platanus orientalis of Mediterranean
Region and P. occidentalis of America; Catalpa ovata of China and Japan and
C. bignonioides of America. Several other examples include Pinus jeffreyi
(Am) and Pinus wallichiana (Himal), Juglans regia and J. californica,
Sambucus mexicana and Sambucus wightiana and so on.

Subject: [Taxacom] Species of same Taxa on different continents?
Dear colleagues,
can you please give me some examples of different Species belonging to the
same Taxa on higher level (= genera,Subfamily) which lives on different
continents. Especially I'm interested in knowing about higher Taxa which
contains Species who have their distribution area in Asia (Species A) and
South America (Species B).
With best regards, Volker
