[Taxacom] Extrapolation

My apologies to Bob for my too-quick rejoinder.

Obviously, I missed the point in his comments. As I read it, I didn't get the sense of irony that was intended. I have heard this argument from others who present it as their <real_sentiment> world view <real_sentiment>, and my reaction was a knee-jerk response.

Cheers,

Richard, I'm obviously going to have to include markup in my posts, like

<irony>progress is inevitable</irony>

How about this:

<real_sentiment>Humans are well on the way to stuffing this planet for
most other forms of multicellular life, and most humans don't care about
that as long as they're well-fed and comfortable.</real_sentiment>

<real_sentiment>In the face of worldwide human selfishness and
indifference, a sane response for those who appreciate other forms of
life is to continue appreciating and sharing that appreciation, and to
find and appreciate as many other forms of life as possible before they
go extinct.</real_sentiment>

Maybe I should again include my salvage blog in the signature?
