A creative and motivated Plant Systematics scientist to lead and work on
Systematics of the Australian Flora as part of the research activities of
the Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research (CPBR).

The successful applicant will lead and mentor a research team to conduct
research on systematics and diversity of Australia's angiosperm and
cryptogam flora, with potential emphasis on polyploidy and the role it plays
as a driving force in the evolution of Australia's angiosperms. The research
will involve establishing the identity, diversity and origins of Australian
plant groups - including characterising relationships using morphology and
molecular data, developing hypotheses and phylogenies of plant lineages in
evolutionary context. Projects will use the collection resources of the
Australian National Herbarium (ANH) and its partner Australian herbaria and
overseas agencies.
